Qigong Essentials: Cultivating & Managing Your Energy
London life is seldom quiet, and all too often we forget how to take time out in order to return to a sense of stillness. These sessions will introduce students to the ancient Chinese art of Qigong, the practice of aligning breath, movement and intention to achieve radiant health and calm. Students will learn, through theory, practice, and meditation how to cultivate and manage qi (or life force), and how to take time out to centre and ground themselves. We will also look at the role that breath, touch and energy play in our relationships with the environment and other people, particularly when living and working in a busy environment.
In these hour long sessions we will learn to draw from what the I Ching calls the inexhaustible wellspring. Each session will include a short lecture and discussion.
Suitable for beginners. Please bring a notebook.

Session 1: The Strength and Softness of Water (Monday January 9th, 7-8pm)
Session 2: Touch and Qi (Wednesday January 11th 7-8pm)
Session 3: Finding Centre (Monday January 16th 7-8pm)
Session 4: Protecting your Wei Qi (Wednesday January 18st 7-8pm)
